Ismael Jr AMRI SUED is based in our Kigali office and is a member of the Corporate & Finance Practice Group. With almost 20 years of experience, Ismael has advised international and national clients on corporate, finance and commercial law matters, including in commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity. He has also worked in project management coordinating large-scale development projects across Africa. Ismael has expertise in entity formation and fund structuring in Rwanda.
Ismael holds a Law degree from the University of Lyon III (2001) and obtained a postgraduate diploma in Business Law from the University of Lyon III (2002). After holding various senior positions in the private sector during more than a decade, Ismael re-joined the Rwandan Bar Association in 2021. He joined Liedekerke Great Lakes as an associate in 2020 and was promoted as senior managing associate in 2022.

Assisted a major US based player in the agri-processing and food distribution business in the acquisition of a majority stake in a Rwandan-based agri-processing business;
Assisted the first close of the $ 21 Million future of work fund domiciled in the Kigali International Finance Centre (KFIC);
Assisted various local and international stakeholders in their M&A activities in Rwanda, including due diligence and legal opinions to help them enter the Rwandan business law environment;
Advised and coordinated the operationalisation activities of a major green investment facility for Rwandan government and banking entities;
