Sara Andreea Ignat
Associate
Sara Andreea Ignat is part of the European and Competition Law Practice.
Before joining Liedekerke, Sara embarked on a one-year traineeship at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) in Parma, Italy. During her time with the Confidentiality Pesticides Team in the Legal Affairs Unit, her work focused on the protection of personal data, confidential business information, and trade secrets.
She earned her LL.M degree in International and European Law, specializing in International Business Law, from the University of Antwerp (magna cum laude). As part of her master's degree, she participated in an enriching Erasmus program at the Università degli Studi di Torino in Torino, Italy. Furthermore, she obtained an additional LL.M degree in European Competition Law and Regulation, graduating with distinction from the University of Amsterdam.
Driven by her interest in the dynamic interplay between European (business) law and human rights issues, Sara actively engaged in various projects and courses in this field. Notably, she co-authored a report for the NGO Equinox Racial Justice Initiative, shedding light on racism in law enforcement within the EU framework. Additionally, during her time at the University of Amsterdam, she acted as a legal advisor for the Amsterdam Law Clinic, focusing on business and human rights. Hereby, her team worked together with an international trade union on a case about unfair trading practices and human rights abuses within the agricultural and food supply chain.
Sara joined Liedekerke in October 2023.
