Valérie Simonart

Valérie Simonart is member of the Corporate and Finance Practice Group.

She focuses on corporate advice, governance structures, corporate reorganizations and capital market operations. She has particular expertise in listed companies and real estate companies (such as REIT’s), as well as in structural solutions combining corporate and real estate mechanisms.

She acts for listed, institutional and private companies, as well as for shareholders and for not-for-profit organisations.

Valérie is also a professor at the University of Brussels (ULB) where she teaches in Company Law and International Company Law.

She holds a law degree (1986) and a doctor of laws (1993), from the University of Brussels (ULB) with a thesis on legal personality in private law. She also holds a LL.M. from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, USA (1987).

Valérie began practising law in 1987 and joined Liedekerke in 1994, where she became a Partner in 1997.

She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Revue Pratique des Sociétés - Tijdschrift voor Rechtspersoon en Vennootschap.
