Bert Van Cauter
Associate
Bert Van Cauter specialises in all maters of law regarding building, operating and environmental permits, zoning regulations, spatial planning and environmental issues.
He has assisted clients in numerous proceedings before governmental entities and administrative courts, like the Flemish Council for Permit Disputes and the Belgian Council of State and judicial courts in matters of civil law. He works for private as well as public entities.
Bert also works on regulatory aspects relating to due diligence in matters of mergers and acquisitions. In addition, Bert has gained experience editing environmental legislation.
He holds a master’s degree in history from the University of Ghent and a master’s degree in law from the Free University of Brussels (magna cum laude, 2020).
His legal thesis was awarded with two first prizes and was published in three legal doctrine journals.
Bert joined Liedekerke’s Regulatory Practice Group in 2022.
