Organising regular events for all members of the firm is pretty much synonymous with the Liedekerke approach 'we work hard but play hard as well'. A number of events such as the Liedekerke Summer Event, the Liedekerke After Summer Event, the Liedekerke Revue, our regular afterwork drinks throughout the year, ‘brain maniac’ breakfasts in the firm, etc… are recurring events that allow us to connect with each other more outside the professional working environment which obviously has a positive impact to the cooperation in the office as well. Soak up the cool atmosphere that is strong at these events by watching some after-event movies.
Liedekerke’s Transport and Logistics cross-practice team prides itself in being a recognized leader in our field. Our work covers advisory and transactional matters and litigation, and we represent our clients before the full range of ordinary, administrative, arbitral and international courts and tribunals, both in Belgium and abroad.
We are fortunate to count amongst our group a number of highly specialized lawyers covering all the domains affecting this industry, allowing us to offer a full range of services to our clients. By gaining a thorough understanding of our clients’ needs and applying  both our wide-reaching technical experience and broad sector knowledge (including awareness of and responsiveness to ever-changing regulatory issues in this industry), we are able to strategically address most any complex transit or logistical matter.
Our focus spans major sectors such as aviation, maritime and railway, along with some more specialized niches. Our wide and varied array of expertise makes Liedekerke the partner of choice when navigating the main branches and sub-branches of transport law and logistics.

The transport and logistics industry is rapidly evolving; new legal and regulatory issues constantly arise, often necessitating an immediate response. In an increasingly globalized marketplace, companies active in this sector must be able to rely on advisors who truly understand their businesses and the challenges they face, and who are able to assist them in whichever areas they’re operating, to include:

  • corporate management of airlines and groups of airlines

  • airport logistics

  • government contracts

  • commercial and financial advice

  • contract management (transportation contracts, aircraft maintenance contracts, cargo handling and catering contracts, leasing and charter contracts, and finance agreements equipment leases, and other agreements)

  • insurance claims and risk management (insurance coverage, environment claims, etc.)

  • regulatory (aircraft noise regulations)

  • labor and employment

  • litigation (litigation prevention, commercial disputes, liability in contract or tort, and in cases of damage, loss, delay, or personal injury in relation to the carriage of goods or persons)

It is increasingly essential for companies to partner with legal advisers who understand the sector’s business dynamics, major players, and critical business drivers, and can advise a variety of stakeholders on transport and logistics-related domains.
