Tom Van Dyck heads the FinReg Team with 4 lawyers dedicated to financial services advisory.
The FinReg Team advises banks, insurance companies, payment institutions, e-money institutions, asset managers, financial intermediaries, FinTechs and RegTechs on all legal and regulatory aspects relating to their activities. Team members have contacts with the regulatory authorities (FSMA and NBB) on a daily basis.
The FinReg is specifically focusing on:
ESG and SFDR implementation for financial institutions
digitalization projects
outsourcing projects
crypto and payments
fund regulation (UCITS and AIFMD).
The team has also specific expertise in matters of regulatory enforcement.
Tom was promoted in 2022 as Thought Leader and Global Leader in both Regulatory and FinTech (Who’s Who Legal). He is “highly regarded” in IFLR1000 (2022). Tom is a member of the Bars of Brussels and of New York. He holds a Ph.D. in financial law. In 2006 and 2007, he was a visiting researcher at Harvard Law School. He joined Liedekerke as a Partner in 2010.
