Thijs Vermeulen is part of the Litigation Practice Group.
His work covers a broad range of (international) insolvency, finance and corporate litigation in a large variety of sectors, such as energy, financial services and institutions, funds and asset management and retail.
He also has experience in advising international and national clients in these fields.
Thijs holds a Master Degree in Law from Ghent University (UGent 2018) and joined Liedekerke in 2018.
Assisting the director and ultimate beneficiary of a aluminium manufacturer in relation to the restructuring and refinancing of the group and in relation to litigation against an U.S. private equity fund challenging several shareholder resolutions.
Representing a telecommunication company in litigation subsequent to the bankruptcy proceedings of two mobile virtual network operators, in relation to a director’s liability claim and the recovery of its claim.
Advised an airline on the restructuring of its activities in the COVID-19 crisis and related matters;
Advising a governamental regulator of the energy market in relation to insolvency proceedings of several energy suppliers and conservatory garnishments in the hands of the regulator.
Advising a large oil company in relation to a conservatory third party garnishment levied against that company in order to secure an alleged claim for an amount of 57,808,606.93 EURO
