As a corporate lawyer, Jan Vreys specialises in private and public M&A and joint ventures. He has extensive experience in advising multinationals on local and international corporate transactions. He also advises companies on the legal aspects of complex industrial investment projects (including EPC contracts) across a wide spectrum of industries. He is very familiar with cooperation agreements between companies, and in particular consortium agreements under the EU’s Horizon 2020 program and Belgian grant regulations for R&D and strategic ecology support.
Over the past decade, Jan Vreys has focused on the corporate aspects of public-private-partnership (PPP) transactions where he assists sponsors with transactional structuring and corporate governance.
He frequently counsels EU and non-EU companies on the scope and application of foreign direct investment regulations in Belgium, both at federal and regional level.
He has a law degree from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven 1987) and a Master of Laws from University College London (1988).
