Belgian start-up Cohabs specialises in residential co-living projects for young professionals since 2016. The company offers renovated, high-end and furnished housing units organized in co-living properties. The 50-person company currently has a portfolio of 1,550 rooms spread across five cities (Brussels, Paris, New York, Madrid and Luxembourg) with the majority of its team and assets based in Brussels.
This EUR 100m financing round, one of the biggest fundraisings in Belgium this year, follows an EUR 65m round completed in September 2021. It is set to finance Cohab’s growth, with the ambition of becoming a global reference in the market and by reaching 5,000 rooms in 11 cities by 2026. New investors include Ivanhoé Cambridge, Belfius Insurance, Belgian Sovereign Fund (SFPIM - Real Estate). All the founders and most historical shareholders (including AG Real Estate and Alphastone) remain on board.
The Liedekerke core deal team included Charlotte Ferron (Associate), Céline Tallier (Counsel), and Jacques Meunier (Partner). Natixis Partners and Tandem Capital Advisors acted as financial advisors of Cohabs.
