
Kristien Carbonez
Partner
Kristien Carbonez is Resident Partner in our London representative office. She acts as the key point of contact between international clients and the firm’s practice groups in Belgium, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Rwanda.
Having advised US, UK and European clients while practising on both sides of the Atlantic, and with more than 10 years’ experience of business development in the legal profession, she has a broad grasp of international client needs, and focuses on strategic lead generation. She also coordinates Liedekerke’s various Country Desks and global liaison programme, developing and nurturing trusted and sustainable relationships with peer law firms internationally.
Kristien’s background is in Intellectual Property and EU law and regulatory issues. Her IP experience has covered all forms of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property work, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets and confidentiality, copyright and designs. She has practised in Brussels, Washington DC, and London, and is a member of the New York Bar (2002) and the Brussels Bar (1997).
She holds a law degree from the KU Leuven in Belgium and LL.M. degrees from Georgetown University (Washington, DC) and the University of Heidelberg (Germany) and is fluent in Dutch, French, German and English.
Kristien joined Liedekerke in 2007.
