
Myrtle Gevers
Associate
Myrtle Gevers is part of the IP/IT team.
Myrtle specialises in intellectual property law (copyright, trademark law and patent law), trade secrets, consumer law, market practices, ICT law and data protection law. She has experience in distribution law as well.
Myrtle assists clients with advisory work, as well as drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements. She furthermore represents clients in proceedings before (Belgian) courts and during arbitration proceedings (e.g. counterfeit proceedings, injunction proceedings, seizure proceedings and damages proceedings). She works for clients active in various sectors, including media, pharma and health care, automotive, the public sector and retail.
Myrtle holds a Master of Law from the University of Ghent (2017), and an LL.M. in Intellectual property and ICT law from KU Leuven (2018).
In 2018, Myrtle received the Sabam Legal Award, an award rewarding an article on a relevant topic in copyright law, for her article regarding hyperlinks in copyright law. She furthermore has been recognised by IP STARS (Managing IP) in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 as a Rising Star in IP.
Myrtle has authored publications on intellectual property. She is moreover a member of the Benelux Trademark and Industrial Design Association (BMM).
Myrtle joined Liedekerke in 2021. Before joining Liedekerke, Myrtle worked at a Belgian law firm for 4 years.
