Leopoldo Luyten de Alvear
Leopoldo Luyten de Alvear is part of the Banking & Finance team and focuses specifically on transactional finance. He advises both lenders and borrowers, be it on a domestic or international scale, and has experience in real estate finance, project finance and acquisition finance. He also has experience in debt capital market transactions.
He holds a Master’s degree in Economic Law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (cum laude, 2020).
Before joining Liedekerke, Leopoldo worked in the Banking & Finance department of an international law firm for 7 months, with a special focus on financial regulation.
Leopoldo joined Liedekerke in April 2021.

Assisted ABN Amro Bank N.V. on the accession of two Belgian entities of the CBRE Group to a Dutch law governed sustainability linked EUR 200,000,000 revolving facility agreement
Advised the loan parties to a New York law governed USD 360,000,000 financing agreement, the proceeds of which were (partly) used to finance the acquisition of the Belgian EverZinc group by Aterian Investment Partnes, a U.S. investment fund
Advised the loan parties to a New York law governed USD 555,000,000 first lien credit agreement, the proceeds of which were (partly) used to finance the acquisition of the Flexsys group by private equity sponsor One Rock Capital Partners, LLC.
Advised private equity sponsor Argos Wityu with the EUR 55,000,000 refinancing of the indebtedness of their portfolio companies forming the Gantrex group
Advised Nala Renewables Belgium BV, a joint-venture between the Trafigura Group (one of the world’s leading independent commodity trading companies), and IFM Investors (a global institutional fund manager) in relation to the financing provided in connection with the building and operation of a battery energy storage system
Assisted Belfius Bank and BNP Paribas Fortis in connection with the set-up of a EUR 100,000,000 Euro Medium Term Note Programme and the related first issuance of EUR 20,000,000 4.50% Fixed Rate Green Senior Notes listed on Euronext Growth for Belgian real estate company Codic International SA
Assisted the Sonaca Group with their 2022 global refinancing by amending and restating the documentation relating to their existing club-deal financing
