Jonas Van Orshoven
Senior Associate
A Senior Associate within our Regulatory practice, Jonas is an environmental and energy lawyer working on complex regulatory and litigation matters for regulators, international and domestic companies.
He has a particular expertise in enforcement of environmental and energy law, environmental permitting, climate regulations and emission trading systems, and environmental liability litigation. Jonas’ experience in the industrial and waste management sectors involves working with domestic sector leaders as well as large multinationals and he provides advice to major industrial companies. He is an expert in environmental due diligence work and has a specific interest and expertise in food regulations.
He regularly assists clients in proceedings and represents them before civil courts, regulators, the Council of State, the Constitutional Court and the Flemish Council for Permit Disputes, including extreme urgency proceedings.
He holds a Master Degree in Law from the University of Antwerp (2018) and a Master of Environmental Science (M.Sc.) degree from the University of Antwerp’s Institute for the Environment and Sustainable Development. During his studies, Jonas was part of his university’s constitutional law moot court team.
Jonas is the author of several publications on environmental, climate and energy law. He is a member of the core editorial team for the Environmental and Energy Law Journal (Milieu- en Energierecht).
He joined Liedekerke in 2018 and was promoted to Senior Associate in 2023.
