Liedekerke assists Sligro Food Group on its € 47 million acquisition of (most of) the Belgian Metro-business division of Makro Cash and Carry Belgium NV, which the Enterprise Court of Antwerp in the judicial reorganisation proceedings of Makro authorised today to proceed.
Liedekerke advised the Dutch foodservice wholesaler Sligro Food Group on its successful bid and assisted Sligro in the judicial reorganisation proceedings of Makro. As the court has authorized the acquisition by Sligro, Sligro acquires (most of) the Belgian Metro-business division of Makro Cash and Carry Belgium NV, a former subsidiary of the German retail group Metro AG. The acquisition involves 9 Metro shops and their employees, as well as hundred employees of the regional structure and its head office.
Liedekerke will now further advise Sligro on the finalisation and closing of the acquisition.
As part of its growth strategy, this acquisition will allow the Dutch market leader in food service to broaden its presence and market reach in Belgium and establish a solid network of food service companies for the Belgian food industry.
